On November 6th, 2024, my life underwent a profound transformation. Before that date, I was deeply entrenched in a hectic lifestyle. I was struggling with various addictions and shouldering the responsibilities of being a single mother.
In my attempts to cope, I found myself functioning as a workaholic and a gambler, trying to manage everything on my own. However, this facade concealed a deeper issue, as I neglected my own well-being due to my addictive behaviors. It wasn’t until I fell victim to deceit, being set up to sell to undercover agents in order to sustain my habits, that the gravity of my situation became apparent.
During my incarceration, I hit rock bottom. Losing everything that truly matters, including the stability and care of my daughter. The weight of feeling like a neglectful parent left me feeling hopeless and broken. Yet, through prayer and divine intervention, I found solace and support. A good friend selflessly took my daughter and cared for her while I served my time.
I utilized my time incarcerated productively, seeking help and attending meetings to facilitate my personal growth. Upon my release to Bernice’s House on June 26, 2025, I still faced uncertainty about my future. Nonetheless, the six months I spent at Bernice’s House proved instrumental in my recovery, empowering me to overcome my struggles and redefine my reliance on substances.
Today, I am grateful for the transformation I’ve undergone, and my daughter’s pride in me is something I cherish deeply. I have come to terms with my past, recognizing that the journey I’ve undertaken has led me to where I need to be. I appreciate 70×7 Recovery’s support in offering a safe haven upon my release, and their role in maintaining my commitment to my recovery. 70×7’s assistance has been instrumental in my progress. I appreciate all the love and support you have given me. I can’t thank you enough.
